supermarket tales…

Some girls like shopping for clothes… I like shopping for food, and I’ve done it in the UK, most of Western Europe, the Middle East, Australia, East and West Africa, Canada, the USA and then random places like Bali, Fiji, the Dominican Republic. In all these places I had a good root around the big supermarkets and the local delis/ eateries. And you know what? They each have their own eccentricities, but in general, they are exactly the same. I will talk about their individual quirks in more detail in later posts…

dinner party tales… Handsome’s party of six…

Picture the scene, a dinner party for six people, two of whom are me and Handsome… Of the four guests, I receive word that one is gluten intolerant, and another is vegetarian…

I had a conversation about gluten the other day that made me rethink it and I will definitely be looking into this some more. Handsome’s mother essentially told me that gluten is the root of all evil and that it is exactly what it says on the tin… GLUE. Continue reading dinner party tales… Handsome’s party of six…

From hospitals she went to work in a private care home and ended up being the manager. After meeting my father, they combined their ambitions and opened one care home for the elderly, then another for people with dementia. Continue reading a mother to be proud of…

been away, but there’s still a lot going on…

Well it’s about 20 days since I started writing my blog and about 10 days since I posted anything new. Not an auspicious start, but it haven’t forgotten about it. It ticks away in the back of my mind as I continue to get on with the crazy day to day and this time, I have even remembered to take some photos of the delicious food I have conjured up along the way. Continue reading been away, but there’s still a lot going on…

inspiring distractions…

I have never been so full of ideas as I am now. I’m not sure what the catalyst has been but I suspect it is giving into my creative side, that writing down my thoughts allows new ones to emerge. I clearly remember telling several people that I am not an ideas man. That I am not creative. And that I do not have any original thought. Now I’m no longer sure that is true.
